I donated a selection of photos from my recent trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo to the folks at Virunga National Park for use in promotional materials.
Media makes a big difference to embattled places like Virunga that are trying to garner support for conservation and rebuild tourism amid difficult conditions. It’s great to know that my photography can help in some small way. The Virunga National Park blog is probably one of the most interesting national park blogs out there. It’s a valuable resource for adventurers planning a trip and for people interested in the battle, literally, to conserve the Virunga ecosystem. Posts there range from the inspiring (tourism) to the alarming (militias).
The Virunga blog had a feature about my photos on Friday, and they’ll be making one of them into a postcard for sale at the park headquarters.
