I’m a freelance photographer and writer based in Cape Town, South Africa.
I specialize in writing about the environment, science, and travel and telling stories through photography. I studied physics and biology at MIT and went on to complete a PhD in ecology. I also enjoy exploring a diverse range of subjects including art, street, culture, and food.
I’m available for commissioned assignments, whether writing, photography, or both, and I have a large collection of stock photography available. Please contact me regarding projects or licensing.
Fine art prints are available at occasional exhibitions or via custom orders. My work has been on display at the Iziko Museum in Cape Town and exhibitions in the US, South Africa, and Europe.
I take on commercial projects in portraiture, interior, and product photography when time allows. Please contact me to discuss your project.
I’ve recently written and photographed pieces for the Guardian, Travel Africa, Wild, Sawubona, Getaway, Popular Mechanics, Quest, Africa Geographic, Safari, and more. My work has also appeared in a number of scientific journals and books.
